Look, for example, at Reform being given time for an uninterrupted press conference recently.

“Legal & ethics guidelines” do not preclude editing.

Editing together two different parts of a lengthy, verbose and barely coherent speech is essential for a current affairs show wanting to cover many points in a limited time.

The overall impression created, and the intent behind the edit, might be more contentious.
