I can't imagine M&B would want to go to the expense (thousands) of feeling a tree like that if they didn't think they needed to

It's not certain anyway that we would have had 20% tariffs if we were in the EU. Probably, maybe, but not for certain
I would not have put it past trump to have set different tariffs for different EU countries
