It’s a strange policy, but it def makes them stand out. Years ago (2005?) they had an interview with the editors who make all the wacky decisions. It’s a great read.

I have one of those Hokey “perseverance” posters in my office that lists all of the Lincoln’s failures before their successes. Because I genuinely believe perseverance is the positive trait that allowed them to get shit done.
