It’s liberating for politically-driven media. If you’re freed from having to seek a big audience you can just lean into the hardcore. But everyone treats you like you’re mass media!. You’ve (Extremely dril voice) gotta hand it to Gibb et al who ran the campaign this week, they know how to do it.

I tried to explain this to a group of largely over-70s in a talk this week with mixed results but I think this chaos might be making the old institutions more powerful in the eyes of elites in the absence of other pointers as to where mass opinion is.

Smashing my head against wall with how badly the basics mechanics of this are being reported, which i guess is perhaps understandable when even the supposed immediate cause of the resignations is not really being interrogated.

I was in that field a year ago conducting a Bill Drummond-inspired tribute to my mum. Can’t believe I grew up around that countryside as standard.

I guess you could argue they were smaller and got on with it. So London did quite a lot but not a big %age of the plan? I’m typing this walking thorough Croydon tho and this is my view rn so some happened.

Because of the limits of how many pictures you can get in an email before people’s inboxes break. I’ve just been adding some in to the web version!

MailOnline did a very good job of checking out the 'Darlington barber' story last year and found ... "Turkish Barbers" were popular and more responsive to UK consumer trends and often full of customers. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...
Interactive map reveals the towns with the MOST barbers
Across England and Wales, with its population of 60,854,727, there are now 44,995 barber shops and salons - one for every 1,352 people on average.

Yes I really, really feel there's a worrying elision going on here (and I've been doing a lot of reporting on dodgy high street shops!)
I really think the money laundering thing is enormously overplayed based on very little evidence and the tax evasion / lack of minimum wage underplayed.

Downing Street under Cameron used to be very sensitive about 6music headlines because (the belief was) Sam Cam was a fan and would then feed it back to the PM.
(Related: 6music is absolutely the most elite station in UK.)

Disagree! I think it’s a successful niche product superserving a mental audience. Its app has lots of smart stuff based around following personalities in an in-house TikTok way.
