The economic problem with AI and robotics is very simple. As companies need fewer and fewer employees, the income in the economy will be directed more and more to company owners. Ordinary people will not be able to survive and the demand in the economy will drastically shrink. I see no solution../

If you don't know the band already and you like ambient electronica please listen to Kiasmos II, it's basically perfection.

Next thing to happen in the process of Trumpism will be some kind of armed standoff between could be ICE and local law enforcement or police sent to arrest government officials for contempt of court. The reaction will be a whole new level of attempted tyranny

#Coding #SoftwareDev The hardest thing in software dev isn't naming or cache invalidation, it's knowing where to put things.

Is there any April Fools joke about something made up done by Trump that people would actually not believe at this point?

#AI why are states so obsessed with training foundation models when the gap between open source models and proprietary models is so small and when most of the value generated by AI will be in applications leveraging those models?

If social media ceased to exist tomorrow what would be lost? Virtually nothing except some profits. What would be gained? A huge amount of time and a not inconsiderable amount of sanity.

#AI #ChatGPT #DeepResearch I'm using this new deep research feature in Chat GPT. It's really amazing and digs up all kinds of useful information, takes about 10 mins but it would take you a couple of days to do the same not as well. Highly recommend.

#AI #LLMs #CursorAI When you find AI isn't fixing a code bug, the danger of continuing to try and get it to solve the same bug is that it will hallucinate bad reworkings of the code. Often the issue is you didn't give it enough context, e.g. the code calling your code etc

JD Vance insisting the rest of the world will be takers of US AI tech shows technical naivety when their LLMs are only leading by about 10% the best open source ones. US cloud dominance is much more of a problem

The painful thing about working with #react is you're constantly building little state machines in each component, but their behaviour isn't explicit, it's encoded in the order of the hooks and their dependencies

If I was any non US state I'd be looking to have my country building out it's own cloud infrastructure as soon as possible. Both because of no longer trusting the security of information held by US corps and that being critically reliant on US cloud infra is something Trump could want to exploit

#ai I'm using Cursor AI to help me write code, it's an amazing example of an integrated LLM assistant. Does anyone else find the more they use LLMs to help with work the more ways you find to use it and the productivity gain is looking like around 50% now.
