Storyteller, audio dramatist and francophile, Jill Korn captures many of her ideas while sitting, apparently idle, over a large café au lait. Jill lives in Scotland with a patient husband, an indolent cat, and the voices in her head.
Boswell's Galloping Farmers on YouTube from midnight tonight. Just one more way to hear this highly original audio drama from Sound Escape Theatre.
Worth staying up for.

BOSWELL'S GALLOPING FARMERS #5

BOSWELL'S GALLOPING FARMERS
1915: the Gallipoli trenches. To be a bomber was one of the most dangerous jobs, as Sandy Barclay recounts in his memoir. It didn't mean you were popular though. Far from it.

Just saying.

The last of the hydrangeas - all the colours from just two ancient bushes. They were magnificent this year.

Genetics - a funny old thing. How come I can inherit (so far) five health conditions from my beloved forebears, but be bypassed in the greenfingers department?

I am like the Basilisk where houseplants are concerned. They shrivel.up and die as soon as I go near them.

Is it really evil to rejoice when a line or a character you've invented makes someone cry?

Challenged myself this past couple of weeks. I've been adapting 'The Glad Giver' as a 20 minute stage play. Not as simple as I thought but far more interesting. I have been able to add visual elements to tell different parts of the story.
Will it ever be produced? I hope so.

Today, we recorded 10 people's thoughts on the murmuration of starlings. We invited people, some writers, some not, to come forward with their original pieces of prose, poetry, whatever. The musicians will come later, bless them.
Thank you, all you creative folk!

Hedgewitch x The Bletchley Riddle
It's time to save the world. Join a team of pre-teen sleuths as they battle a bigoted cult with a history of persecuting witches and those who are “different”.
Now, the Malleus Society is back and out for revenge.

The Glad Giver is featured today in the UK International Drama Festival. This is the third of my plays to be selected for international festivals.
The feedback from listeners when the play was released in 2023 was exceptional (see below).

Margery Kempe was a a contemporary of Julian of Norwich. We were lucky to have Joanna Swan playing her because she's an incredibly versatile actress. Delighted that The Glad Giver is included in next week's UK International Radio Drama Festival.

Thomas is a lost soul it seems. Played by Simon Michael-Morgan, he tries to act the tough guy but is no match for the kindness of Julian of Norwich. Excited that the Glad Giver is in the 2025 UK International Radio Drama Festival!

As the various edits and extra recordings come in for Boswell's Galloping Farmers, I'm getting that excited feeling again. The contribution by willing creatives & funders! — this is what brings a piece to life. We all want to do justice to the men who came back and the ones who didn't.
