Ella Angeline Raymond Gates was only 29 when she died of complications after an appendectomy. She left a husband and 2 small children. This is the only grave that has a cover in the small Gates Cemetery near Broken Bow, Nebraska. #familyhistory #genealogy

This baby quilt was my mother-in-law’s. Her mother made it for her in the 1930’s. Some of the fabrics are faded to nearly white but they are all intact. Hand-quilted in a 1” diagonal grid, except for a double chain motif in the border.

This tied double-bed quilt was made by my husband’s great grandmother in Iowa. I don’t have an exact date, but I’m guessing between 1890 and 1920’s.
