Here's a better way of showing this. Each dot shows the average decodability of the stimulus identity (x) and the mouse's decision (y) across neurons within that brain region.

Corollary: If a brain region cares about one aspect of the task it probably cares about other aspects too!

For me it was "On Intelligence". A friend lent it to me when I was 19, and until that moment I didn't realize math and brains had anything to do with each other. I also just realized that, despite the fact that it completely changed my life (empirically speaking), I don't even own a copy of it!
