Well done to the Friends of Brixworth Church on hosting their Heritage Day. The beauty and multilayered history of Brixworth Church never ceases to amaze, with its origins in 680AD and the use of reclaimed Roman tiles as part of its structure. A parish church with an origin story as a monastery.

Is it just me or is there irony of their council publishing guidance on dealing with heatwaves when its Reform led administration is progressing the binning of interim net zero targets for its emissions and the emissions of the wider area? Stay safe out there @libdems.org.uk @josiah.writes.news

There are occasions when it's the right thing to stand together against Reform's ignorance of Net Zero and the throwing of its local targets into the waste bin. They are on the wrong side of history. The 2050 deadline still stands and now we have no interim targets to measure.

No surprise at all that the Reform UK administration voted last night to bin the council's interim net zero targets. The story appeared in The Telegraph an hour before the cabinet had even voted to make the decision. Serious questions over appropriate decision making by cabinet.

Wishing Jeff Lynne a speedy recovery. So sorry for him, the band and those who were expecting to see him at his final ever gig tomorrow in Hyde Park. We were lucky to get to see Jeff Lynne's ELO at the final home town concert in Birmingham last Sunday. Get well soon.
