Gary Mokotoff, founding president of IAJGS, passed away on August 31.

Gary was a computer software pioneer who led to the creation of many genealogical innovations, such as JewishGen’s Family Finder and the Daitch-Mokotoff Soundex system.

Friendly reminder - CENSUS SEARCH - when you're certain where a family should be living, and they're just not coming up, swap the surname and forename. Just tracked down a family in the 1911 Irish Census using their address which matched 1909 and 1912 birth records. Sure enough, bingo! #Genealogy
