I took first place in Royal City Literary Arts Society's writing contest for my story "The Homewrecker".

"This is a powerful multilayered tale of a house personified as the black-hearted other woman..."

Many thanks to the judges who had the tough task of reading many amazing entries.
It's baking season 😄

I'm not usually a baker, but my husband started talking about it last night and I got inspired - orange zest shortbread drizzled with dark chocolate.

Getting ready for my hubby's birthday celebration in wine country.

The desert air agrees with me - still dry - at least until that next bottle of wine 😁🍷

I am truly grateful to live this life.

It's Remembrance Day in Canada, and without the sacrifice of our soldiers I would not have this life.

The world is always changing, tomorrow is never promised so I live in gratitude today where I can call my life my own ❤️ - and I never take it for granted 🙏

Happy Samhain 🎃

Tonight we prepare to embrace the dark half of the season, to sweep away the energy that no longer serves us, and sow the seeds of new dreams and possibilities in a new year. Blessed be 🧙

What a magical night 🎃

An array of spooky stories and poems from the writing ( & ghostly) communities @rclas.bsky.social & Haunted History BC

I thoroughly enjoyed everyone's readings and what a wonderful prelude to All Hallows Eve.

And I thank the king to my queen, for his neverending support.

Writing was a bit problematic due to construction around my building, but the Vancouver Writers Festival Bookstore on Granville Island was a pretty good substitute 😍

Tonight's movie draw from the cauldron - perfect for a windy rainy night.

Often renowned literary books don't translate well to movies - but there are exceptions.

This is the original 1963 classic.
