I love it, too. Thanks for sharing. My word for 2025 is joy (chosen because I knew this would be a tough year), and remembering to seek joy has been difficult. Sometimes I feel guilty experiencing joy, but I’m working on viewing it as resistance. This poem is perfect for these times.

They were all unique and wonderful, but my favorite was Zion. My husband‘s favorite was Bryce Canyon.

In the end, we shape each other by giving what we can. These traits or experiences blend together to create the family’s heritage as blue and yellow make green. #PoemADayJuly 3

Sometimes generations pass wisdom, care, and privilege to the next, but sometimes parents act to do better and give more or differently than they received. I think this is one way to “give what you did not have.” #PoemADayJuly 3
