Couldn’t have asked for a chiller table neighbor. Looking forward to digging into your book.

You’re either bragging about successful sales or admitting being bad at math.

I’m here for either.

Write two books. One to sell at private auction to some selfish crypto bro. One with the actual ending to publish for fans.

I have a section of my workshop that’s all about how comedy and horror both rely on subverting expectations and using tension, and its subsequent release, to deliver.

I got hit by a car in my early 20s. Both legs absolutely shattered. Multiple surgeries, ambulance ride, hospital stay, weeks in physical therapy, etc.

Cost to me: 0$

And I’m covered for any assistive needs I might require as a result of the accident as I grow old.

J.D.: “Will there be fucking couches?”

Donald: “There will be so many couches J.D., you won’t believe the number of couches.”

J.D.: “I didn’t as how many there would be.”

That’s the point though. It won’t involve him. These ‘innovations’ are far more likely to replace shallow content like impersonal overproduced YouTube video than actual artists. In the long run that is.

‘Give a Mr. Beast video of 100 contestants playing games to win a Tesla on Mars’ etc.

My boss can do what I do with AI.
My boss cannot accurately do what I do with AI.
My boss will not gamble his multi-million dollar labor of love to save my measly salary.

I feel sort of hollow after Adepticon.

I’ll have to write a report.

You should absolutely make time for it. Or if you find that’s not your jam, to find a way to tell your story through art. It’s worth the effort and commitment to seek the art through which you can express yourself best. And if that ends up being writing and you need tips, hit me up.

The Life Engineered is a very different book. But while I might be done (to a degree) with the God of St-Ferdinand, I’m not done writing about dark forces. And if you’re in the mood for something a little scary but also a little cozy, may I recommend giving the Achewillow podcast a listen? ;)

I get updates here and there, but until anything solid happens there’s no point making any announcement. The project keeps bouncing back and forth between people. I would love an adaptation of the caliber of The Outsider.
And yeah… dementia sounds terrifying. I feel for you.

So, the bad news is that I’m not likely to be exploring that universe again. Having delivered the manuscript for the third book to the publisher, I feel like I’ve said what I had to say within that world.
The good news is, I’ve got a few other projects either published or on the road to it.

Hey there!
First off, let me express my condolences for your dad’s passing.
I’m glad (and more than a little humbled) my book helped you get through it. You’re not the first person I hear say that horror has a therapeutic effect on them.

Oh man… next to Philip Fracassi, Paul Tremblay and Clay McLeod Chapman? I’m in illustrious company.

We’ve come a long way from a video game fancast to what is one of my favorite stories with Achewillow.

And boy… if we get to everything we’ve got brewing… what stories do we have in store…
