In Portland this weekend and it was lovely. Everywhere. Even drove by the ICE facility to see if maybe the war zone was localized. 10-12 people hanging around with signs and chatting. Down the block was a park with adorable dogs frolicking with their people. Barely made it out with my life.

Great day in Sac at the Capitol of the 7th largest economy of the world. The “B side” of my poster that was wonky Econ stuff actually got so much engagement. Today made me hopeful.

Just finished my poster for tomorrow’s protest! The vaccine side was the original but then I didn’t want to leave the back blank. The enraged economist in me wanted to write “the tariffs are so stupid I can’t think of anything clever to say about them.” But I decided I this instead.

They like to cuddle on their sister’s bed and miss her since she’s off in college.

Just got this email letting me know Natl Center for Education Statistics is “postponing” next week’s data users conference with no plans to reschedule. Clearly no point in talking about how to use their data when soon we likely won’t be able to anyhow. 😠
