The head of our country’s government is in the early stages of consolidating total power. We must of course reject this, but that is not enough. We have to respond by creating a different and better kind of American politics than we have seen before.

Within one week, ICE has advertised about “illegal” ideas and Trump has boasted about imprisoning American citizens in foreign concentration camps. Add to that the expanded surveillance mechanisms created by outfits like Palantir and Musk’s access to our data. It’s easy to see where this is headed.

Every elected official should be demanding that the administration follow SCOTUS's order and return Garcia to the U.S. immediately.

The President is not a king, and court orders are not optional.

If they can bypass courts for him, then they can try to do the same to any of us.

What many Americans need to understand, right now, is that they do know, they just don't care. They know real American history, particularly of the 14th Amendment. Yes, the words are there, but it didn't take long for courts to interpret them away. And then 58 years passed between Plessy and Brown.
Precognitive speech isn’t protected either? How does the GOP not understand that the First Amendment and Fifth Amendment do not require citizenship.
