We are told the ‘war’ against Gaza is finally ‘over’. Is it? | Arwa Mahdawi
I am not celebrating the end of the ‘war’ because this was not a war – and it’s not over, either

It's not asylum seekers who jack up rents, undermine the NHS, hold down wages and keep people insecure.
It's capital.
The role of the far right is to shift the blame for decades of economic attacks by the rich and powerful onto powerless people who have only just arrived here.

Oh my goodness, protect this incredibly brave woman
“Shame on you,” said Microsoft employee Ibtihal Aboussad, speaking directly to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman. “You are a war profiteer. Stop using AI for genocide. Stop using AI for genocide in our region. You have blood on your hands. All of Microsoft has blood on its hands.”

Open Props UI has great examples on how to progressively enhance to this new customization

try all their variants and see the "non-experimental" version too for fallback styles and what that experience is like

awesome work github.com/felix-bohlin

try it?

It’s sad when artists or OSS programmers or hobbyist friends get apologetic for doing work that makes them happy at times like this-

We will truly have lost if we lose ourselves! I want to see you all shining as bright as you possibly can.

With so much going on in a dire direction, dancing can be both medicine and an essential part of our response.

My last post is a personal dive into moving our grief and seeing it also as a trusting partner on the dance floor.

We think they should be powerful enough to afford principles. They think they have a lot to lose (and they lost their "don't be evil" motto a long time ago). Google, you coward, you quisling.

You do not have to consume every single tiny piece of bad news in order to be a good person. It’s ok to miss things. Traumatizing yourself isn’t the same as activism. Bearing witness to the point that you’re paralyzed with fear and horror and fury isn’t going to help us get through this.
Remember their goal is to terrorize us. And social media is a fantastic way to spread terror. We don’t have to help them.
Based on the vibes of my timeline today I’m feeling like the next two weeks are probably gonna be a really good time to reduce social media use as much as possible. Because YIKES.
