Happy New Year! In case you need to hear this:

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s still winter — a time for rest, reflection, and waiting.

Don’t let anyone force you into New Year’s resolutions, gym memberships you won’t use, or that “new year, new me” bullshit.

Rest. Think. Be. 💖

7 months. 7 months and over 100 job applications. That’s what it took to find full-time employment again after being laid off in March 2025.

I am exhausted.
And relieved.
And finally feeling hopeful again.

Onward and upward.

I really like what Bluesky is about, but I definitely feel like I still don’t fully “get” this platform. I’m sure it’s user error and not the platform itself. What have you all found most helpful or fun about this space? Any tips on how to build community here?

Listen.

When Black and brown people call out racism and your first reaction is "YOU'RE A RACE BAITER!!" Then you're telling on yourself.

Because if you weren't racist, you wouldn't feel baited.

Now sit down while the adults in the room are talking & working to protect ALL our human rights.

If you went to Christian school like I did growing up and had textbooks that had the phrase “…for Christian schools” in the title, you weren’t taught facts. You were taught straight up propaganda.

Hey #Democrats in Congress: less social media rage and more tangible action.

We all know we’re fucked. What are YOU doing to change things?

Dear dem leadership,

If your plan is to sit on your thumbs and hope things get so bad that people might vote for you again, you'll get run out of town.

The oligarchs are playing for keeps.

Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, or get out of the way and let others take the helm.

Telling folks to just "plug in to community" rn is well-meaning and if you can do that, wonderful. But most people are not super connected to community for many reasons. So, if you don't have community rn that's ok, consider finding 2-5 ppl you can form a pod with.

I’m a few hours away from my birthday, so I gave myself the gift of deleting Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and Messenger off of my phone for at least the next 24-48 hours. 🎉

I’m so sick of social media (and yes, I realize the irony of posting this on a social media site lol).

It’s only the 9th day of the year, and already the vibes are so off. So much devastation and destruction all while we (at least here in the US) hold our breath and wait for it to get worse in a couple of weeks when that one guy gets inaugurated. 😫 Trying not to lose hope, but damn. It’s hard.

Alright, I’m new here. What should I know about this place?

Where are my fellow activist creatives, intersectional feminists, social justice advocates, and good trouble makers?
