Quite tired Minneapolis resident. Used to be funny.
Exhausted, in this context, means that the person did not rank any of the remaining candidates on their ballot. So, for example, if you ranked Hampton, Short, and a Write-In, then your votes would flow to neither Frey nor Fateh and be “exhausted”

There’s a vintage ad for Dr. Pepper that recommends simmering it and mixing it with rum, served hot. It’s… well it’s not as bad as it could be an it SORTA scratches this itch. Would not recommend putting the slice of citrus in there, pretty as it is.

I should add that some have claimed that the sexist comments are claimed to be poorly-translated. I don’t really know about any of that, but I DO know that when the translation of the comments came out, a certain subset of gamers were very excited about a studio sticking it to the feminists.

Yeah Black Myth was popular with them. I didn’t follow it too closely but the tl;dr is that the game is genuinely well made, but there were several sexist/anti-feminist comments made by the creators. I haven’t played but my understanding is that the game itself has little in anti-woke content

It’s main character of Black Myth: Wukong, a video game from last year based on Journey to the West. It was briefly claimed as a victory for the anti-woke gaming crowd. The Verge has a decent article on what happened: www.theverge.com/2024/8/23/24...
Black Myth: Wukong is too mediocre for all this drama
Journey to the rest.

Even if it didn’t hit the bat first, I’m struggling to see how he actually pulled the bunt back in time.

I don’t like to see the Tigers happy but I’m glad it didn’t end on that note.

Ope I’m hopping back into this to say I meant above 0 including windchill, not freezing lol

400 hurdles, 800, and 3k steeplechase are all considered to be hardest in distinct ways. The 800 is hard because it’s long enough to be strenuous, but short enough to optimize.

My training was always a little short on miles compared to average. Probably 30-45 miles w 2 speed workouts or races

No injuries, but to be fair I was the most prolific faller and I never got hurt any other way either.

And indoors I went from 600-1600, but specialized in the 800. Also ran cross country, but was never, you know, good at it.

I ran college track in St. Paul where the rule was, basically, if it’s above freezing including windchill, it’s an outside run. If you cover up appropriately it’s not a big deal, body heat does the trick. We would track wipeouts per guy and usually the worst case scenario was like 5 in a winter.

My grandfather passed on Thanksgiving years ago. The pre-meal prayer still gets a bit teary, but the rest of the day is about normal. We do still discuss him, especially as he could talk about holiday food for hours uninterrupted.

This sounds different than what you’re going through, my condolences

There’s lots that go into it, for sure. It can be hard to parse what is upstream of what— is the high solve rate upstream of the high trust? Or is the high trust upstream of the solve rate? The answer, frustratingly, is both, and also neither entirely.

(I can’t verify murderdata.org’s sources but this does scan from what we can tell from more official sources like the crime dashboard)

Minneapolis’ murder clearance rate is about 50% lower across the last 60 years, versus about 68% for St. Paul. You can see St. Paul also doing a good job the last couple of years at clearing murders. Certainty of being caught is one of the better-known deterrents. www.murderdata.org/p/blog-page....

I had this thought about the Virgin Islands TOO but I’m 99% sure that that’s Dry Tortugas. The reasoning is that if they were going to draw Puerto Rico, then they would surely also draw the US Virgin Islands, right? Or maybe they put PR there so they could use the Dry Tortugas pin for both. 200IQ

I agree that it appears unfinished due to the total lack of a border between Kentucky and Ohio. Unless, of course, the artist simply desires a Large Ohio.

Good question! Those seem to be small national parks that are on islands too small to depict on a map like this. What tipped me off in the first place was the copper pin at Isle Royals up by Minnesota (unfortunately, that island is technically Michigan though)

The copper pin things seem to correspond to National Parks. The red and white divide appears to be at the 36°30′N parallel, which is associated with the Missouri Compromise, but that would be a weird distinction in a map like this

I’m a running first, basketball second guy. My brother is a basketball first, lifting second guy. His “basketball endurance” is much better than mine as he uses those short twitch muscles a lot more often, but, I do think our overall health and fitness are similar (well I’m out of shape these days)

Also the map of Illinois in the Abe Lincoln/western border flag cuts off the land that contains Chicago. I’m sure it’s not intentional and that the rest of Illinois sometimes doesn’t *love* Chicago dominance, but… come on
