For anyone looking for help with this more recently, the location of the setting has changed! Now it's under Word>Preferences>Edit>Editing Options, and then you can deselect the option "Select entire word when selecting text". For reference, I'm using Word 16.84 on macOS Monterey. A screenshot of the Microsoft Word Preferences>Editing menu, that shows the location of the relevant preference. "Select entire word when selecting text" is the seventh option on the list.

Grahame and Ray's marriage was starting to come apart during filming. Grahame was forced to sign a contract stipulating that "my husband [Ray] shall be entitled to direct, control, advise, instruct and even command my actions during the hours from 9 AM to 6 PM, every day except Sunday ... I acknowledge that in every conceivable situation his will and judgment shall be considered superior to mine and shall prevail." Grahame was also forbidden to "nag, cajole, tease or in any other feminine fashion seek to distract or influence him."

PHL § 2830 requires that written notice regarding the facility fee be provided to the patient at least seven days in advance of each date of service. The written notice must explain the amount of the fee, the purpose of the fee, and whether the patient's insurance plan will pay the fee. For uninsured patients, information on how to apply for financial assistance must be given. If advance written notice is infeasible because the visit was secured less than seven days in advance, then a written notice shall be provided on the date the service is rendered. The written notice shall be provided in plain language in conspicuous twelve-point bold face type and be available in the top six languages spoken in the hospital's service area. Hospitals are strongly encouraged to include the facility fee notice in a separate, unique document to ensure patients are adequately notified of the facility fee and have an opportunity to request clarification when needed. Presenting the notice in a unique document will further ensure that uninsured patients are appropriately identified and receive information on how to apply for financial assistance, as required under the law.

He said that while there is enthusiasm for Zohran Mamdani and that his economic policies have good intentions, he believed they were not well thought-out.

this is word salad, a mix of the obvious, which literally every climate scientist and activist is already arguing ("The challenge before many of us..") and a strawman argument against something NOBODY is saying ("the fantasy of universal vulnerability")
The challenge before many of us is to channel our fear and grief about the climate crisis into choices that safeguard the future: how we provide aid to the most vulnerable, and how we heat and cool our homes, travel, eat and, above all, vote. We commit a grave error when we indulge the fantasy of universal vulnerability — that the world is becoming generally inhospitable to human life. For while we all live on one planet, there are many worlds separating the real victims of climate change from the bystanders.

on one hand, yes, there's something distinctly off about rich people whining about being 'climate refugees,' nobody is going to say otherwise...
Compassion and outrage are appropriate responses in the face of this injustice. But when those of us who are relatively climate-safe indulge in visions of planetary apocalypse, we can lose sight of our own complicity and become mired in feelings of victimhood. I know an affluent couple in Connecticut whose house kept flooding during rainstorms, so they moved to the hills. “I guess you could say we’re climate refugees,” the husband told me while we dined outdoors one summer evening.
