Award Winning Director & Entrepreneur • Creating an ecosystem for tomorrow’s theatrical IP and audiences. Broadway Women to Watch ‘24
Julianne Nicholson is such a talent and she’s also smart AF. Her simultaneous turns in polar opposite characters in Hacks and Paradise are brilliant, fun and skillful in a way that make me so so happy.

Ryan Coogler, Sinners (and Kodak/Warner) love fest: I don’t go see a ton of movies, I’m not proud of it but there it is. I somehow missed Sinners coming out and only heard about it when all the press came out about Ryan negotiating a rights return (it’s on my mind so it caught my attention )…

“There’s no point at aiming this thing [a camera] at the building if the viewer doesn’t know the people inside.” Peter Saarsgaard in September 5th. Also me to Broadway every day.

You know, I think the artists saying the things that need to be said, unveiling the quiet things that pay check to pay check folks feel - are the most powerful resistance tools at our disposal. I’m paying attention and listening.

We are piloting our new digital accelerator for theatrical IP with Particle, a coming of age story set against the high octane world of esports. At the center of it we believe money has to come in earlier to promising MVIP, so digital storytelling can distribute across the lifetime of development.

Had so much fun cooking up something supremely silly with the beyond funny Jessica Vosk. Want to see it? If you’re in NYC, grab a tix to Amplify25 (and if you’re a broadcast partner hit me up 😆)

Very cool announcement about Amplify 2025 (directed by yours truly) in Playbill today! Hitting the street with Jessica Vosk tomorrow to film a little something silly to open the show. playbill.com/article/sara...

Had a GREAT convo w influencer Katharine Quinn about live broadcast & the Bwy of it all. I said a lot I believe in, a few things I’m nervous to have said out loud - but at the end of the day I think we have to ask these questions in service of figuring out theatre & screens. youtu.be/av9pEDA8V2I?...

SNL is the closest thing to a theatre company screen mediums have been able to create. I find so much inspiration in this work.

I too have questions 👯‍♀️
we, on the left, need to be discussing the yassification of ezra klein more

I have a question. If you had a chance to invest in a piece of theatre from the very beginning (ostensibly you believe there’s a return on investment to be had) what voices or perspectives would you be looking for?

#theaterbsky I sort of can’t believe I am saying this but I think I’m of the mind that a bad experience with a far reaching theatrical livestream (could be ticketing process, quality of show presented, lack of art in capture) is net bad for the theatre. We already have a perception…

I’m never more aware of my vocal training than when I’m cheering for the KC Chiefs in a New York out apartment building. Very resonant. Sorry to my neighbors.

One of the first things I did when I arrived in NY 20-something years ago is climb 6 flights of stairs to interview with Richard at his apartment. It still counts as one of my most prized experiences. What a gift to the theatre, arts and culture.

I am so sad for Swept Away. It’s got me thinking a lot about the elements that lead to such an inhospitable environment for original work on Broadway rn. Difficulty investing at early stages, lack of good, compelling screen-based content that can be top of funnel. What else do you think?

PSA for my theatre friends - be sure to make a RISE theatre profile! I know for myself, the live broadcast industry is *heavily* male and white - I always go to RISE to look for new folks to add to our teams, and as a Director, I’m listed there too!
