Or that we (normal society) haven't done a good enough job stomping out that myth or the impulse to scapegoat.

Either way, bad and not helpful to the realities of the situation.

It's been amazing/alarming/upsetting to realize this year just how much of our government and rule of law was only held up by the assumption that only decent, moral, people would operate it.

So many things no one ever thought to codify because "no one'd ever do THAT"... [Sigh]

It's tricky bc we've seen the extent hypocrisy & illegality don't matter to GOP, how they'll plow thru and do stuff anyway w/their power, & how much of the base will make mental leaps to rationalize.

Still think bringing the sins to light & on record is good to for when this regime does fall apart.

You'd think that after everything that's happened this year (DOGE, funding cuts, firings, now this shutdown), the public has gotten a big crash course in "oh, so that's government too?"

This is prob the best time to be pro-gov-workers, now that ppl can clearly see the everyday places gov helps.

One of the big takeaways from this week is the party has to run candidates *everywhere* who are good fits for their community.

Building a massive candidate pipeline in all 50 states is how you operationalize that takeaway. We're doing it!
