As if it couldn’t get worse, then gods start getting involved, saying he has to kill the queen. How, exactly, is he supposed to do that? Peleb goes undercover to join the royal Paladins to get close to her, but his new team might be a problem. There’s the arrogant daughter of the Queen’s top councilman, the excitable son of the Queen’s gemstone sellers, a woman whose idea of a good time is anything that puts you in an awkward position, and a man so beautiful that Peleb is certain he’s a messenger of the gods. At first, Peleb was determined to follow the gods’ plans, but maybe his new team can make a better way.
