this remains my biggest problem with rise of skywalker: not just that it was a shit movie, which it obviously is, but that it kicked over the sandbox - I don't want more stories in the sequel era, the whole thing is tainted

The word "elites" really obfuscates that they are talking about 2 different groups! Financial elites and medical/scientific elites are very different groups with different incentives and cultures
