If you’ve been here a minute, you know Rosecliff thrives on seasonal MSWL drops. Sure, spring should be all about renewal ... but step outside. The world is literally on fire. So, of course, @jessicaberg.bsky.social wants books that burn.

been worried all day about the spider I let out on the balcony this morning. It's cold in DC today. There's snow. Is he going to be okay?

I am extremely freaking thrilled to announce that Bad Company is *officially* available for preorder wherever you buy books. (I am linking to Bookshop but buy it wherever!) I worked so, so hard on this book, and it would mean a ton to me if you ordered it. bookshop.org/a/109816/978...

#MSWL posts incoming. #QuestPit lurking in progress. Mood: caffeinated, mildly feral, desperate for our next favorite book. If you see us aggressively liking pitches, mind your business (or send us your query).

And as a corollary, it would be really nice if reviewers didn’t keep calling adult books written by women YA. I lost count of the times NETTLE & BONE got described as YA. The heroine is THIRTY. I wrote it for adults! It is fine if teens want to read it, but it’s not YA and that is FINE.
The YA publishing crisis isn’t that we need more mature YA books or a Mature YA label, it’s that we need more YA books published for teens of all ages and less YA books published as YA but also wanting to reach Adult audiences. Adults have plenty of books published for them.

A Saturday stack of books. Feral hope words might fix all of this. (Do they? Ever? Or just crack us open wider?) I want to write. And I want to read and I want to rest and I want to feel and and and until the wanting stops being bigger than the doing.
