Springer-Nature launched a series of "Discover" journals that closely mimic MDPI titles -- sharing *identical* journal names, and likely similar business model.

What is going on, and why researcher will - as always - fall for it?

As an ecologist, I fail to see how culling a population would "prevent and reduce damage caused by wolves" as empty niches would simply be filled by new individuals.

Apocynaceae is remarkably diverse. I am especially fascinated by the Ceropegieae tribe. This photo shows Orbea tapscottii in the Waterberg, South Africa. This individual appears to have disappeared after a veld fire.

Parasitc plants are fascinating, and easily overlooked. Some time ago I found this Agelanthus sambesiacus (Zambezi mistletoe) somewhere along a road in the Waterberg, South Africa.

Estonia is probably the best country in Europe to observe lynx in the wild. This is the third year in a row that I see these cats around the house.
