Trump’s corruption is sinking in — his chaos was initially convincing people that he was “shaking up Washington.” Now he’s 16 points underwater on “changing business as usual in Washington” in the NBC poll. The economic numbers are, of course, abysmal across the board.

2016: Trump promises Lordstown, OH that he is going to save their auto jobs.
2019: The Lordstown plant closes anyway.
2024: Biden gets it reopened as an EV plant.
Today: Trump forces it closed *again* in his war against U.S. EV manufacturing.

Fully on board with Ashley Etienne on the opening for Dems to run against the GOP culture of corruption again. From the Epstein cover-up to stripping health care and jacking up utility rates to cut taxes for billionaires, corruption is at the core of it all.

If Trump is so proud of his immigration policy, why does he systematically hide the reality of it from the American people? I know why: because every time people hear more about it, they recoil in horror.

I just think the poor kid shouldn’t have his life destroyed by one mistake, and deserves a second chance.
I mean third chance. Probably there’s room for a lot more chances if I’m honest.

Just a total own-goal, forfeit, folding with a full house, making us energy-dependent for generations.
A geopolitical suicide pact from the Republicans, jammed through without anybody actually reading it, all so Trump could surrender with fireworks on our Independence Day.

As Musk denounces the House GOP attacks on solar and clean energy production, here is @Chamath from @TheAllInPod making the same case directly to Ron Johnson: forfeiting the clean energy race to China means forfeiting the AI race to them too. AI needs every electron it can get.

All of this is supposed to be saving American manufacturing. But Trump inherited the highest level of new factory investment in history, and immediately started tanking it.

Will Republicans kill hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs for their own voters because their oil industries donors want to kill clean energy? We’ll know soon!

Unreal. This is the steel plant that JD Vance credited for the good job that helped his grandfather raise him. This DOE grant was a lifeline for the plant and his hometown.
Now he’s just standing by while Musk laughs and takes a chainsaw to it.

Yikes. This will keep changing but GDPNow’s model for Q1 GDP has taken a dark turn.
“The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2025 is -1.5 percent on February 28, down from 2.3 percent on February 19.”

Oklahoma has the 2nd most new clean energy jobs in rural areas of any state, more than $4.2 billion in private sector investments since 2022.
And its governor is talking sense on repealing clean energy tax credits when companies are already building factories: Hard No.

If you’re wondering why Trump would so openly disgrace himself by halting enforcement of a bribery law, I’ll give you 3 guesses which industry violates it most often.

Having worked 11 years in Democratic White Houses, it was a perennial guessing game on what GOP states would come up with as “harm” done by the policies they were suing to block, in order for them to have standing.
Not exactly a challenge with Trump.

Given that one of DOGE’s first targets, before Trump was even inaugurated, was a loan to one of Musk’s EV competitors —safe to assume that the raid of Americans’ personal and taxpayer information is also (if not primarily) being used for Musk’s personal gain.

There’s a word in South Africa for systemic *inequality* and *division*. Ask your boss Elon about it, he might have fond memories.

Remember how Trump’s whole answer on bringing down costs for energy and everything else was increased oil production?
Here’s what ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance said on his earnings call today when asked if they would increase production:
