This is an exceptional article from @billiejsweeney.bsky.social covering how the wave of queer firings coincides with a total erasure of trans voices in articles themselves, and an increasing deference to the talking points and language of the administration. It’s chilling.

All of his accounts are chatbots at this point, just like all of his videos are now generated.

Perhaps, but i think we will also start to see significant problems with AI coding that suggest this to be true. Already LLMs are reintroducing old security holes that have been long patched into new code.

I also have yet to hear someone say “oh good, a chatbot instead of a person”, and it isn’t only a matter of performance. People just don’t love the experience. That likely won’t significantly change at least for a long time.

Deepseek also showed proprietary isn’t the only option. Sure, everyone is integrating AI into their app no matter how inane the use case, but most of the tasks chatbots are replacing are customer service jobs. You don’t need an LLM that can write complex analyses for that. There’s a ceiling of need.

Few things have made more more mad over recent months than the attention given to this while the Supreme Court is actually taking step after step to make life more difficult for trans and nonbinary people.
Like, this actually happened last week — in an unsigned order.

SCOTUS lets Trump administration implement anti-trans, anti-nonbinary passport policy
The Democratic appointees, led by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, dissented. The ruling, which applies during litigation, effectively reverses two lower court rulings.

A whole laundry list of totally reasonable charges. This could have killed the baby if she had a respiratory condition, or anyone in the car if it had caused a collision.

The full video is 35 seconds long and shows a black SUV spraying out the window while driving by. The family had started recording because they saw agents ahead. As TDB notes @govpritzker.illinois.gov himself had encouraged citizens to film.

The whole incident is on film, cut and cropped here to avoid showing faces other than Rafael’s but the full 35 second encounter is available.

I really got the sense they wanted to make sure there was always a landed gentry tbh, but I’m not a historian. So hard to imagine them as anything other than exactly who they were, with all the trappings of that period

I recognize that, I know it’s been a logistical nightmare at times. But I’m referring to a partiticular part of the proceedings where this fear was explicitly expressed by Madison. Going to search for it later. Howard Zinn did an amazing lecture on the debate that’s floating around online.
