This is such an embarrassing a non story. Every mention of it makes my soul cringe.
He stated very clearly he wasn’t claiming to be Black and that he did this to try to express his complicated identity as an Ugandan Indian in the actual NYT piece that raised this B.S. piece of slander.

If you were a halfway decent human being and you knew an innocent man was rotting in foreign prison—likely suffering nightmarish conditions—because your administration screwed up and send him there, you’d do something about it immediately instead of shitposting lies all day.

I know the restoration of Jackie Robinson's page to the DOD website doesn't sound like much, but it's a reminder that these bullies back off when challenged. They first said celebrating Robinson "cultural marxism". That was weird nonsense and they buckled like a belt

this is the "merit" two-step. first, you strongly imply or state outright that the presence of anyone who isn't a straight, able-bodied white man is unfair "DEI," then you argue that just because an institution is all-male and lily-white doesn't mean there is discrimination. that's just merit!

this is the "merit" two-step. first, you strongly imply or state outright that the presence of anyone who isn't a straight, able-bodied white man is unfair "DEI," then you argue that just because an institution is all-male and lily-white doesn't mean there is discrimination. that's just merit!
