What a disgusting mascot.

Here is the trick to small talk - most people like talking about themselves. You can ask the same question every time: "How was your _____?" Insert morning, afternoon, weekend, day, etc. Ask simple follow up question - "What did you get up to?"

Deflect the pressure off yourself to them.

To be fair, he's actually four.

I did not know Klingons kept pets. And to discover the horrors that they are is most upsetting.

What an absolutely horrid klingon canine.

Captain Kirk keeps wearing his outfit with the white bib hanging open. Hubby insists this is an acceptable way of wearing the uniform and that may be so, but the fact remains - it looks dumb.

Overall, an excellent movie with a shocking and horrible death.

How did they NOT REMEMBER WHERE THEY LEFT THIS GUY???

Chekhov has a very distinct Matthew Broderick vibe..

I feel like they are making way too big a deal for this middle aged man's birthday. Like it's no big thing when you hit your 30s onwards??

I think Shatner's hair has been dyed since the last film.

For a vulcan, Kristie Alley is sure running on gut feelings.

First thoughts...this definitely looks like it was released in 3D originally.
Music by James Horner, so that's promising.

What else is there to say...

The effects were cheesy to say the least, but charming in their own sort of way.

Overall an enjoyable movie and a good start to a long project with my husband.

Costumes in the movie were horrid - baby blue, tan, and light brown. Onesie style and too tight.

The scene where Spock goes rogue and steals a space suit has another guy working with his back to us and I could have sworn he was buck naked. Not good.

The bald lady was beautiful of course, but pretty meh in terms of character development.

Not to spoil the plot of this very old movie, but Decker being okay with her being killed and rebooted into a computer and still having some romantic feelings for the new computer was weird.
September 19, 2025 at 3:55 PM
I love chain of command plot points and workplace politics, so J found the relationship between Decker and Kirk very interesting to watch. Probably the best part of the film.
September 19, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Decker's character was shockingly belligerent, straight up antagonistic, and overall incredibly unprofessional for someone who has managed to rank up to the position of captain.
September 19, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Two new major characters are introduced in this film. Decker - portrayed by the guy who plays Stephen Camden from Seventh Heaven and a bald woman - I cannot remember her name and I refuse to google it for my purposes today.
