They are! I was only able to get a few photos, but I thought this one was pretty neat! He was hanging out with a swamp sparrow. I’m much better at painting birds than photographing them!

Eastern meadowlark in watercolor. Kyle and I went on a birding trip in Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley a few weeks ago. Seeing this guy sing while perched on a fence post is one of my favorite moments from that trip.

Early morning visitors. I’ve had eastern bluebirds eyeing my nest box for months. Of course they are interested in it now that the house wrens have already built their nest. Still, it made my day to see the bluebirds return with some of their young.
