If I'm counting right, of the 6 books that were either winners or finalists for Pulitzers in history and general non-fiction, 4 were published by university presses. A fifth author had an early career UP work. Our work has never been harder. And never more relevant. #ReadUP!

OA increases availability and doesn't discriminate against those without wealth. Everybody benefits.
Thanks to you both. It has given scholars in Latin America access to my book. A high price would have prevented them from acquiring it otherwise.

I have the same feeling. And it's an interesting chance to try and get it right this time. Which is why I'm mostly listening and amplifying.
Seeing my feed in Bluesky gives me memories of the early days of Twitter- when there was hope, engagement and creativity. It’s refreshing and I hope it lasts.
