Your Daily Affirmation:

On this day when the Hellmouth has opened and unlimited fuckery is released into the world, I remain detached and cheerful, attentive only to those people close to me (and waffles) but willing to let everything that doesn't affect me directly fuck all the way off.

If you haven’t read Colin Cotterill, you are missing out. They are delightfully twisted mysteries. Right now I am listening to Anarchy and Old Dogs -chapter 1 and I am already giggling.

Ushers by Joe Hill update: quick, easy and delightful read. It surprised me, which is hard to do. Joe Hill is living up to his legacy.

Today’s read Ushers by Joe Hill. I LOVE that the voice of Stephen King can be heard in his son. Don’t misunderstand- Joe is a great writer but you can tell he grew up hearing King stories read by his daddy. Heart Shaped Box is an impressive story. I’ll let you know about Usher.

I loved Bad Monkey with Vince Vaughn. So I decided to read the second book in the Yancy Andrew series by Carl Hiaasen. Razor Girl is good. I can’t wait for season two.

In too Deep by Andrew Child (the heir apparent to Lee Child’s Jack Reacher.) I was not thrilled with the first couple of transition books but I think Andrew has found his rhythm with Jack.

Today I listened to the rerelease of The Long Walk by Stephen King. It was originally released under the pen name Richard Bachman. It is a near dystopian future that when it was first published in 1979 seemed far-fetched but now reads like a news article.

Just finished The Waiting by Connelly. I love Bosch and Ballard is growing on me. I really like that MC is an easy read.
