Our Region’s most famous hobo deserves to return to his family. For nearly 70 years, the towering balloon-toting hobo statue greeted motorists on U.S. 20 in Miller, then Ripley St. in Lake Station.

During Saturday's “No Kings” protest in Valpo, police conducted 24 traffic stops for improper use of a vehicle horn, enforcing a state law in response to complaints.

If you view Chicago only from the distorted prism of national news outlets, it could seem a dangerous place to visit, even the touristy sites. I don’t feel more endangered than in years past and hundreds of visits over the past 50 years. @chicago

She’s packing up her belongings now and will soon be leaving me again. It’s always a bad breakup with this mistress. At 1:19 p.m., she will be departing, I’m told.

Charges were filed today against a 25-year-old adult involved in the Aug. 15 attack of Scott Lindsey, a 44-year-old autistic man, as he bicycled through Hessville Park in Hammond.

The 44-year-old Hammond man was attacked on his bicycle while riding through Hessville Park. A group of juveniles on bicycles surrounded him, six of his teeth were knocked out, but Lindsey, who is autistic, initially declined to press charges.
