My ‘Zeeland’ project will be a new solo exhibition at De Oostkerk in Middelburg (NL), from 4 July to 24 August, this year. Twenty extra large format frames will be on display in one of the most beautiful places in Zeeland.

We have to embrace grayness this time of the year, I like it nevertheless. This specific image was made in the (temporarily) abandoned Zoo of Amsterdam. The birds seem to have their own little conversations while the public was gone.

Helaas heb ik mijn opa nooit gekend. Een ‘Koempel’ uit Heerlen die z’n gezin onderhield als mijnwerker in de Oranje Nassaumijn 1. Stoflongen zijn hem uiteindelijke fataal geworden, zoals bij zovelen uit die tijd. Kijk de prachtige serie ‘Het stof daalt’ via NP0 npo.nl/start/serie/...

Besides being a photographer I’m a fanatic snowboarder. I like the Alps, from France to Austria. Japan and Canada still on my wishlist. From the Brutbuild resorts to foggy mountains in the morning…. I feel at home. And hooray for the iPhone whenever things occur in front of me. #Kaprun #Austria

A ‘Stolperschwelle’ was placed at the Artis tram-stop on Monday 27th of January, in memory of the deportation of tens of thousands of Jews from this location by tram to one of the Amsterdam stations and then to concentration camps on behalf of the occupying forces. From my series ‘Bereft City’.
