I care about the poor, the sick, the hungry, the homeless, all the disenfranchised of our society. One of my favorite things is teaching English to refugees, but sadly, they're currently unable to enter the U.S.
I honestly thought that was a picture of a monkey!

Beautiful. HDT had a way with words.

You know, I'll have to reread CD because I don't remember that. I do know that this work heavily influenced Gandhi and MLK, Jr.

I get the idea 😃. I read all his works in college, and the man had a profound impact on my life. "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." And I do.

I've always loved Thoreau.

I'm sorry but completely understand. I moved 1000 miles to be back with the family and friends who promised to help.

One of them did.

Heartbreaking.

I don't even know you but feel so bad for you! I was my husband's caregiver for 9 years after his stroke. It is truly exhausting!

I had the same kind of youth and love those "silent ways." Nice to know that even us quiet ones can feel powerful when we join our voices in protest.

I've stood on aching knees at the No Kings protest. I've called and emailed Senators. For 10 years, I've posted to social media about the horrible things that Donald Trump is and does. What else can I/we do?

I'm mostly okay with working. Just found out about a part-time teaching job and will interview on Friday for it. Fingers crossed!
