Ages ago now, but I remember forcing myself through Sister Carrie for Modern comps and hating every minute of it. I remember absolutely nothing else about it, except that enduring that trudge was entirely pointless because it didn't come up on the exam and never anywhere else again.

Kimmel's the most likely to demonstrate genuine anger, if not fury. Colbert and Meyers will probably temper any anger with satirical impishness. If Stewart's on, there might be utter indignation.
I do wonder how Carson would've handled this. Company man, yes, but this would've PISSED. HIM. OFF.

My head just can't get over that Mel Brooks must just be devastated right now. His best friend's son, who he knew from a toddler, through all those decades, and... now this.
Has to be absolutely heartbreaking.

He grew up behind Sid Caesar's show, learned behind DIck Van Dyke's show, worked with Norman Lear, all the while closely connected to people like Mary Tyler Moore and Mel Brooks, and all that's before 1980. Then he really got started. He was a true nexus point between the cultural ages.

Something additionally sad, but maybe less obvious: I imagine this has to be devastating for Mel Brooks, who has pretty much known Rob since Rob was a toddler. Must be unbearable.
