Just finished this fascinating & very unusual book about the palace life & downfall of Haile Selaisse. Written by a Polish journalist in 1978, it consists mainly of reflections by former palace staff. Paints poetic & disturbing picture of absolute power "serene & inert" at its height and in decline.

Post a *perfect* album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains.

This arrived in the mail today! Based on presentation I gave at Mennonite-Indigenous Encounters conference at Grebel Spring 2022.
I warn that some attempts by Mennonites to pursue Indigenous-settler reconciliation can perpetuate white supremacy within Mennonite churches.
