End of week eight in the @bcgeu.bsky.social job action. No significant escalations this week. The numbers are holding steady at 23,500 on strike and an additional 1,900 on OT ban. #bcpoli #bc #yyj #VictoriaBC

More minor escalation from @bcgeu.bsky.social with an additional 500 people on strike up to 23,500 members with an additional 1,900 on OT ban.

We have a bike counter on the multi-use trail going over the bridge. The rush hour is real! You can also see the impacts of unusual weather (snow in Victoria 🤯) and the impacts of seasonal darkness.

Looking a little worn but some Studio Ghibli art work in Quadra Village. Fitting since the Roxy is playing Spirted Away for the next few days. #yyj #victoriaBC

@victoria.ca is there an opening date for the new courts at Topaz Park? They look nearly done. #yyj

Big news from @bcgeu.bsky.social this morning. Non-binding mediation between the @bcnewdemocrats.bsky.social and the union will begin. 23,000 members remain on strike (+400) with an additional 1,900 on an overtime pan (0) #bc #bcpoli

An updated plot, no additional escalation from the @bcgeu.bsky.social so far this week. 22,600 (~66%) of members on strike with an additional 1,900 on overtime ban. About 5,000 members are essential.

No updated strike numbers from BCGEU since last Thursday. So today here is the length of time in years to earn back lost wages from 12 days of strike pay (top up strike pay ended Sept 28). Higher income earners lose more during the strike because strike pay is a flat $130/day. #bc #bcpoli

I appreciate @victoria.ca trying to up their bicycle wayfinding game. But I find this really confusing. The numbers need to be cross referenced to a map in an app which kind of defeats the purpose of IRL wayfinding. For the record #9 is Beacon Hill park and #22 is Dallas Road. #yyj 🚲🗺️

Hey Dave I couldn't make it out today but I want to put in a pitch for the addition of lighting for the basketball court at central park. The lights on the new pickleball courts at Topaz are great, I think the basketball players deserve the same. Perhaps it could be part of the new pool project? 🏀

Victoria is getting 11 new pickleball courts at Topaz Park. The lights will greatly extend the hours of play in the dark half of the year! #yyj 💡

The new Telus Ocean building in #yyj is coming along nicely. I still cannot believe that some people argued to keep the rental car surface parking lot that used to occupy this lot.

Finally got around to getting hr bike count data from the Johnson St bridge. Lots of interesting patterns in the data. Very strong commuter signal in and out of downtown. Clear weather impacts of ice and snow. Bumps up for the Canada Day long weekend, go by bike week and even the bike rave! #yyj
