The Stan culture that has taken over wider society sucks so much and is a massive driver of our inability to develop successful political movements to produce the kinds of societal change necessary for everyone to be able to live a good life. Instead, we get a hyper-individualisation.

Nice thread by @ammassarisofia.bsky.social about our presentation today to Australian Electoral Commission, plus some findings of our survey of Gen-Z voters & non-voters.
As Sofia says, we've got a lot of work in the pipeline on this & on youth wing members which hopefully will all be out in 2025.

It was great to present today to the Australian Electoral Commission our research (w/ @duncanmcdonnell.bsky.social & Ferran Martinez i Coma) on Gen-Z turnout in Australia.
We surveyed >1,300 Gen-Z young people (oversampling non-voters) & examined their electoral behaviour at the 2022 fed election.

Something that never gets old is speaking to prospective thesis students about what they want to study. There’s a passion and interest in their subject of inquiry that is infectious. One of the best parts of teaching.
