I love watching the crows fly downtown at night.

Somehow, Portland still wins in the funniest possible way.

I noticed at Portland ICE last Saturday this agent, who was identified as a federal officer from the Bureau of Prisons. It seems strange that he would be in riot gear at an otherwise peaceful protest, but the administration seems to be pulling out any burly dude who wants to hurt people.

Protestors have pushed agents back into the ICE facility after their brief attempt to disperse people. Seemed to be so a few cars could leave. Maybe 40 agents for this. That’s perhaps what the budget is for. People choking in the roads, mace and pepper to their faces. Some say at least one arrested.

Worth noting that if the administration had already consolidated power these agents would be operating much differently. They mostly just stand around in the roof and come out once in a while and go ballistic. When they do, the response is not equal to what is happening on the ground (music/dancing).

Reminder of what is at stake, and why people are here in the first place.

It is simply a music festival at the moment, but agents are on the roof and appear to be planning something else. Some in crowd briefly chanted “kiss! kiss! kiss!”

Tense scene as Feds unload in #Portland for a shift change. This is not the No Kings rally.

I, for one, just love it here. #portland

Like the inflatable animal costumes that started at the ICE facility, a bellwether for allegorical nonviolent resistance, the “Don’t Obey” wheat paste frogs are also proliferating around Portland. The glue is still wet as the marches convene.

“Noem’s motorcade then drove out of the facility past a handful of protesters on the street outside, including one dressed as a bear wearing a sombrero.”

Came across this earlier today as a Portlander walked their dog (cute) near the 50th & Division Capes & Crapes board game cafe, which is, miraculously, still standing.

Councilor Green speaks to media and the crowd on why vets are here. Cheers to the term “lunatic degenerate,” referring to the president, who deployed 300 California National Guard members to Oregon today to get around Trump-appointed U.S. judge’s temporary restraining order issued Saturday.

A hundred plus people, and growing, are gathered at Portland City Hall for the “Duty to Disobey” demonstration. The call is for US military veterans to honor their oath and stand against Trump’s deployment of the military on U.S. soil (and against foreign wars).

Picked up a copy of the newly revived Emergency Horse at Puff Coffee this morning. Another feature of life in the war zone. Gotta love a local print paper!
