In Second Chance Romance, the author brings together two lonely people who have pined for one another over twenty years.  

Audiobook review: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir November's TBR optional theme: Change of Plans After absolutely loving the audiobook of The Martian, I picked up Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir as soon as it came out in 2021, but it sat on my virtual shelf ever since. The story about a man alone in space without his memories of how he got there definitely qualifies for November’s optional theme of Change of Plans. 

Audiobook review: The Holiday Post by L.B. Dunbar Who’s ready for a sexy, cozy holiday romance? Grab a cup of tea and your fluffy blanket and settle in for this delightful Hallmark-esque tale.  Running behind schedule and driving a sports car in a snow storm, Saint gets into an accident just outside Hideaway Harbor, ME. It’s going to take a couple weeks to get the specialty parts for his car, and Saint needs a place to stay.

Queen Demon Author: Martha Wells Reviewer: Sophia Rose Rating: A- What I’m Talking About: Last year, I came to The Rising World series from Martha Wells' Murderbot series and promptly discovered she was not a one-trick pony. Her fantasy writing has its own voice and a richness of setting, worldbuilding, characters with nuance, and a plot that was nigh unputdownable when it got rolling.

The Botanist's Assistant Author: Peggy Townsend Reviewer: Jen Rating: B What I’m Talking About: Margaret hasn’t had the easiest life, but she’s perfectly content working as a lab assistant for the brilliant Dr. Deaver on his groundbreaking cancer treatment research. However, on her 54th birthday, she discovers Deaver dead and despite being told different, knows it was a murder. With the help of the janitor, Margaret is determined to discover the truth, even as she may be the next victim. 

Audiobook review: Turns of Fate by Anne Bishop Fans of Bishop’s The Others series will sense a familiarity in Turns of Fate. While the story and world are different, the tale is one of “other” beings called Arcana. They are part of the uncanny (aka supernatural), and they do not care for silly humans who do not follow the rules.
