I trust our local nonprofits and organizations to know what is best for our community. Instead of broad freezes that disproportionally hurt areas like ours, we should advocate for funding that strengthens vulnerable communities and programs that are welcoming for people who need it. (4/5)

In our region, federal funding is essential for healthcare, education, mental health programs, and workforce development. The stated logic behind this freeze is to cut “wasteful spending,” but in reality, it is a political move to dismantle federal support structures (2/5)

Why care? By understanding neutron stars, we can better interpret the signals these stars send out (like radio waves) and improve our understanding of how matter behaves under extreme conditions. (4/4)

New Discovery: "proton drip" sauce:
Scientists recently (June 2024) learned something new - that protons can "leak" from atomic nuclei in the "crust," creating a kind of particle "sauce." This helps stabilize the pasta-like structures. (3/4)
