🚨BREAKING: The Supreme Court agrees to hear a case that would decide whether mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day but received after should be counted. A ruling for Republicans could upend mail voting, potentially disenfranchising large numbers of voters.

In a rebuke to Trump, Democrat Abigail Spanberger wins Virginia’s gubernatorial race, becoming the state’s first woman governor. Her support for constitutional amendments on redistricting and voting rights restoration could make it easier to pass both measures.

One interesting thing about the California redistricting Prop 50 election is lawmakers in Texas, Missouri & North Carolina all redrew their congressional maps this year without having to go to the voters for approval and idk maybe voters in those states would like to change that

It is so deeply unserious that TX is like "we need to get voter approval on a constitutional amendment to ban noncitizens from voting, which we know is already illegal" but it *doesn't* think it needs to get voter approval to gerrymander its congressional map. Anyway have a happy election.
