Incarcerated people must be able to hold prison officials accountable for violating their rights.
Inmate’s claims of mistreatment in solitary find no traction at Supreme Court
The justices didn’t squash precedent that opens federal officials up to paying damages, but they failed to expand its application to other constitutional violations.

Brownshirt ICE rolled up to my local Home Depot today and got the F-off treatment.

Shoutout to this woman because this is exactly how it’s done. No badge, face covered = F*ck all the way off.

Wow, New York State has agreed to stop / lift its restrictions against the use of solitary confinement for three months!

Why? prison guards went on strike demanding they be allowed to put people in solitary more easily. gothamist.com/news/ny-reac...
NY reaches tentative deal to end prison strike by suspending anti-solitary confinement law
The state said officers will escape discipline if they return to work by Saturday, and the National Guard will remain in the prisons for now.

The campaign against trans rights is also about stripping away everyone’s protections against discrimination, reviving, as Douglass put it “the moral blindness” of those who “persuade themselves that they are safe, though the rights of others may be struck down.”
