Fine, I’ll do the silly jar meme. Probably no surprises, but here it is. A lot of it I feel is situation or partner dependent. But the overflowing jars always get me. Always.
As a drawing, Moltres was actually by far the easiest bird. Mostly since I didn't feel the need to try and get the flames super accurate.
As far as the background goes, hopefully it at least vaguely resembles a lava flow, and the Fire Blast "kanji."
Also not sure about the text. White felt wrong.

As a drawing, Moltres was actually by far the easiest bird. Mostly since I didn't feel the need to try and get the flames super accurate.
As far as the background goes, hopefully it at least vaguely resembles a lava flow, and the Fire Blast "kanji."
Also not sure about the text. White felt wrong.

I thought Zapdos would be the easiest of the birds. He's also my favorite, and the first one I would use if Legendaries weren't cheating (imo).
But it took a lot of time to get those straight lines to line up and make the right shapes. Zapdos is actually very flat.
The lightning was fun :3

I won't lie, I'm going to have to put in some thought into what I want my background/"special effect" to be for Moltres. The obvious one of "add a bunch of flames" is already part of Moltres' design, so I'm doing it anyway, and don't want those flames to be totally lost/unreadable.

Aerodactyl is a Pokémon I've always liked and wanted to use, but it's not available until so late in the game, and as Rock-Flying isn't really a direct upgrade over another Pokémon like Lapras is.

It's an objective fact. Omanyte > Kabuto, but Kabutops >> Omastar.

It's an objective fact. Omanyte > Kabuto, but Kabutops >> Omastar.

Kabuto is one of those Pokémon that I didn't really bother to ever actually "figure out" until having to draw it.
Mainly the fact that both the small black things on top of the shell and the glowy red orbs are actually BOTH sets of eyes, according to Bulbapedia.
Creepy.

Kabuto is one of those Pokémon that I didn't really bother to ever actually "figure out" until having to draw it.

Omastar was actually pretty quick. Just a touch over two hours, shorter than I took on Omanyte. I actually think the shell shape is slightly easier, and the longer arm breaks up the spiral. Big win.
I actually really like the render on the shell as well. Makes it look pretty three dimensional.

Despite being relatively simple, I was really annoyed with those one. The shell is such an *implied* shape, especially with the shading, not to mention that spirals remain my arch nemesis.
Tomorrow is gonna suck. But we'll get through it.

Unsurprisingly, I decided to just let myself use the straight line tool on Porygon. Straight lines, flat and reflective surfaces.
Remember what I said about Staryu and Starmie? Geometric shapes are hard, but Porygon's "irregular" and not a lot of right angles or parallel faces, so it's better.

Just like that we're through the Eeveelutions. Only 15 to go. At this pace I'll finish before the end of the year. The question is whether or not I'll finish before my Christmas plans start.

I actually really like the purple in the eyes and ears, give a nice contrast to a Pokémon who otherwise really only has one color (besides greyscale).

The ridge-fin on the the tail/back was tough to get to look like it wrapped around properly. I don't love it, but I think I did alright.
