Liberals, NDP delete proposed changes to birthright citizenship from 'lost Canadians' bill
If passed, Bill C-3, also known as the 'Lost Canadians' bill, would restore citizenship to people born in a foreign country to Canadian parents who were also born outside Canada.

Yesterday I tabled a petition signed by over 10,000 Canadians calling on the government to withdraw Bill C-2. This Trump-style legislation threatens due process, privacy rights & Canadian sovereignty. Canadians reject xenophobia & demand the government uphold our Charter values.

Their chaotic approach has already wreaked havoc in post-secondary institutions, leading to layoffs & confusion. Canadians deserve a fair, transparent & accountable immigration policy—not more excuses from a government out of touch with immigrant realities.

1st-time homebuyers are being unfairly left out of GST exemption — just because they signed pre-construction agreements before May 27, even though their homes close after the exemption takes effect.
I fought to fix this at Finance Committee — but all parties voted it down.
