I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

Why is it a woman crying is news but a man losing his temper is not?! In general men show emotional turmoil through anger, women through crying. They are both emotions, one is respected and is the other not; they are the same. This difference is a subtle #misogyny #rachelreevesmp

The level of corruption in the White House is nothing short of horrifying. Why are Americans ok with this? No government is clean but this is blatant and unapologetic

I have experienced imposter syndrome a lot in my life but the cure has been to watch these so called ’strong’ men in the White House.

The way people are joking about Trump being under Putin's thumb reminds me of the way people used to joke about Jimmy Saville being a nonce when I was a kid in the 1970s.

Women have been kept out of leadership roles for a very long time. One of the excuses was that we are ‘too emotional’. Yet right now the whole world is dancing around trying not to upset a thinskinned, emotional manbaby, and his right-wing, ‘white men rule’ supporters think this is strength?!WTAF!

To those Americans cannot see Zelenskyy for the great leader that he is and that he was treated appallingly by your leaders, I have news: the rest of the world can, and your emperor has no clothes.

The Aussie schooner (280ml) serving of beer is perfect. In the UK half a pint is not enough and a pint is too much, as is the 500ml serving on the continent. Wish they would serve them everywhere!

What if the whole world had freedom of movement aka Canada, the US and Europe? Would leaders like Kim Jong Un etc be better because their populations could just leave?

I’ve enjoyed being involved in community projects for many years and always thought I would like to take it a step further and run for local office but now realise it means stepping into an arena of fighting not service I have changed my mind

I truly thought my generation had broken the back of inequality. Looking at the rise of the right around the world, I am asking myself what we missed? Why do so many of the next generation want it back. Is the old adage right? Is money the root of all of this evil?

@America how will we ever be able to forgive you for doing this to us?

I don’t get the feeling of full until long after I finished a meal, so I like to eat with my food on one plate so I can judge how much I need. Because of this I hate eating where they serve ‘small plates’ like Wagamama and tapas (though I love the food). Is this just me?

The temperature at noon on Monday will be 22 degrees which is the same temperature it was in 1961 when Kennedy was inaugurated.

The ceremony was held outside.

The word ‘expats’ really annoys me as it is almost always used to refer to UK and US citizens living abroad. It implies they are a superior type of migrant. I fear it may be related to colour but I really hope not, as that makes it the language of racists.
