Read the NYtimes track by track on Horses this weekend and I still so VIVIDLY remember where I was when I first got those opening lines of Gloria to play on my dad’s record player

If you wanna be depressed sometime, read Jane McAleevy about what it was like being there and told to hold back from stoking popular energy on Gore’s side

A distinction I’ve heard Hahrie Han discuss that I found compelling is how a big welcoming door needn’t mean throwing values out the window—the fact our discourse is led by proposals to grow the tent by trashing core positions is bc we’ve so devalued organizing & building relationships/institutions.

Sarah Caudwell’s mysteries are fun. Lolly Willowes is quick and perverse wish fulfillment. Nonfiction, I enjoyed The Garden Against Time.

Obsessed with trying to crack this code now that I have a 4th grader — heartbreaking on many levels to hear a kid sound hopeless and disengaged

TY for this. We have no known process or parameters for how these tools are selected and how much they are deployed in the classroom despite them now being ubiquitous. (It’s mind boggling, but I think a byproduct of unexpectedly getting 1:1 digital access in 2020)
