The most terrifying thing in lab from my grad school days was not a piece of equipment, but a sound. To this day, I still come running if I hear the whoosh of a vacuum valve venting, especially if accompanied by the sound of turbos spinning down 💨🏃🏼♀️😬
what is the most terrifying piece of lab equipment (for rational or irrational reasons)?
