I work in a library!
Mom to two kick-ass girls

Super Mario Doula
I’m happily on a reading kick. Finished the second Vera Wong and also read the Mona Lisa Vanishes this week. Loved them both. Highly recommend.

Just finished Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a dead man) in between putting things in and out of the oven. What a delightful story. I had the best Bubbie in the whole wide world but I would love to call Vera Grandma too.

Me: looking at my phone… 8:30??? Oh no it is late. The girls haven’t brushed their teeth. We were going to watch another episode with the teenager, now it is too late. The 10 year old needed to be off screens an hour ago.

I didn’t eat dinner!

Y’all… it is 6:30

Stupid being so dark outside.

Before bed? No, the requires waking up and having none of the clocks match so you go “oh right”
⏰ Reminder: Daylight Saving Time ends tonight!
Set your clocks BACK 1 hour before bed.
Extra hour of sleep = winning 😴

When I told my 14 year old about the heist she said “I look forward to them being the most famous jewels in the next 100 years!”

The Mona Lisa Vanishes is a great book

I told my 10 year old a coworker wants her to watch the movie Newsies.
10: Are there girls in it?
Me: not really, no
10: then I won’t like it. It doesn’t meet the rules
14 year old: what are the rules?

Excellent time at trivia tonight. It has been ages since I’ve been and our team won!
Tied for most points and it came down to an epic Rock Paper Scissors for victory.

Spent over an hour today but I think the giant laminator is functional again! Thanks to @marckissel.bsky.social because I could not have done it without you.

Delightful patron interaction.
I was recommending mystery books and the patrol kept calling me “punkin” while hitting my arm. May have accidentally been pinched a few times but still best patron interaction. I love when I get to help with adult books especially the mysteries I know so well.

One of the local schools is doing their annual non-fiction project. Kid comes in for sources about Notre Dame (cathedral not university). We have two PBS documentaries on dvd. Hand them to her and her dad and she says “how do you use this?” She had never used a dvd before.

I laughed so hard

Today at the library a young boy (10 years old maybe) wanted books about Revolutionary War weapons for a report.
Found a few books about the revolution that included mentions of weapons.
I ask “is this enough? How in depth are you trying to go?”

Pretzels! The almost 10 year old did most of the work… but the 13 year old helped shape.
